How can ordinary people make India better?

Dearest Darling Friends,
The other day I heard, uncomfortably, a leading industrialist condemn the state of affairs in India. On my way back, my cab driver Ramdas remarked, "When rich people think India is not good, what hopes do we poor people have for a better country?''
I did not understand if Ramdas was saying it with sarcasm or with helplessness. A thought did arise in my mind...
I sent a message to a few friends, "Believe you have no power, no money, no connections, no steady source of income." Still you want to play a small role in making this country better. What can you do? What can an ordinary citizen do for this country without depending on 'rich or powerful' people or officers? These are a few suggestions I have received.
    1. Don't litter.
    2. Consume less international brands especially if an Indian equivalent is available..
    3. Don't take/ask for dowry.
    4. Respect people.
    5. Be an example or a role model in something.
    6. Maintain discipline in any line....and on the roads.
    7. Cast your vote.
    8. Don't ignore any crime in front of your eyes.
    9. Be physically fit.
    10. Pay your tax rightfully.
    11. Go abroad to learn new technology but come back to use in favour of India.
    12. Don't think that you can't do anything to make India better.
    13. Don’t be an employee. Have employees.
    14. Produce the oxygen you consume. Plant enough trees.
    15. Reduce waste of all kinds.
    16. Stop using plastic wherever possible.
    17. Don't urinate in public.
    18. Smile at people.
    19. Appreciate.
    20. Support those who are doing the right things...
Would love it if you could add your thoughts too. Lets put our hands together to make this country a better place to live in. Just do your bit. That's it.
If this LSM resonates with you, please share it with all, especially Indians.
With love, prayers and exceptional wishes,
naren
Imagine, when we wake up, we are given only what we had thanked for.
